Founded on April 11, 2013, the American KuneKune Pig Society (AKKPS) is the first officially recognized nonprofit registry dedicated to KuneKune pigs in North America. As a member-driven organization, its breeders and enthusiasts play an active role in shaping standards, programs, and overall direction.
Serving both the United States and Canada, the AKKPS maintains accurate pedigree records, promotes responsible breeding practices, and supports education about KuneKune pigs—a small, friendly heritage breed originally from New Zealand.
The organization’s primary focus is to provide its members with a reliable and comprehensive KuneKune pig registry and herd book. In addition, it offers a wide range of educational resources and opportunities, including informational materials, webinars, and sanctioned shows. These programs are designed to benefit both AKKPS members and the general public.
The AKKPS promotes the KuneKune as a versatile, grazing heritage breed of swine, recognized for its many uses. Though sometimes misunderstood, the KuneKune is not a mini or micro pig. It is a medium-sized breed known for its docile temperament and its ability to be gentle on the land.

The AKKPS Membership is composed of KuneKune Owners, Breeders and Enthusiasts.
The yearly AKKPS dues of $65 include all registration related items as well as the Member Services listed below.
Dues are NOT by the calendar year. Dues are from the members anniversary date of joining the AKKPS.
Dues may be paid via PayPal, Zelle or Check by US Mail.
