***Members currently on the AKKPS Breeders List DO NOT need to reapply***
  • The AKKPS Exclusive Breeders List is for AKKPS Members who solely Litter Notify and register with the AKKPS with at least 1 litter born in the last 12 months from application and each year forward.
  • The existing list is audited twice a year (July & December).
  • New requests/applications are taken year round.
  • Exclusive Breeders Logo will be emailed to all applicants that qualify

UC DAVIS - DNA ENTRY REMINDER REQUEST FROM UC DAVIS

It is extremely important that DNA requests are entered correctly - UC Davis has contacted the AKKPS and asked that we remind all AKKPS Members.
  • AFFILIATE THE AKKPS WITH ALL DNA REQUESTS - this allows the AKKPS to add the Registered Name given at the time of registration processing OR make other necessary information changes such as adding the ID method and Number or fix DOB mistakes
  • PARENTAGE VERIFICATION (PV) - This is the test you should choose - DO NOT choose genetic markers (this test is automatically added to the PV testing)
  • SIRE(s) & DAM(s) ENTRY - use the information from the AKKPS Herd Book OR the Litter Notification - the sire and dam do NOT need new DNA tests
  • PIGLET ENTRY - use exactly what is on the AKKPS Litter Notification
  • AKKPS NUMBER (make sure AKKPS is in front of it)
  • REGISTERED NAME: AKKPS number & your Herd Prefix - This is on your Litter Notification
  • PLEASE DO NOT ENTER A CALL NAME in the registered name field or anywhere on the DNA request - All information must be unique
  • At the time the AKKPS processes the registration a Formal Registered Name will be assigned - please do NOT assign your own names this will be done at the time of registration

The price of a 1 year Sponsored Membership has been reduced and is now $25. The person being sponsored by a current AKKPS Member must be a new AKKPS Member. You can find the sponsorship application in your AKKPS Member Portal.
Mentoring clients and sponsoring an AKKPS membership is a great way to get your clients involved with AKKPS and start learning about KuneKunes and the registration processes.

HIGH PERCENTAGE WHITE & BELTED/BANDED PIGS

Prior to January of 2025, the AKKPS Herd Book Listed a B for all High Percentage White as well as Belted/Banded KuneKunes.

Beginning in January of 2025, the AKKPS will offer 2 separate color designators for High Percentage White (H%W) and Belted/Banded (B) KuneKunes.
Please use this form to Herd Book Color Designation Correction should you need to update your KuneKunes color designation to High Percentage White (H%W).
There is not need to update Belted/Banded pigs as they already have the Belted/Banded (B) designator
NO PHOTOS ARE REQUIRED TO UPDATE THE COLOR DESIGNATOR.
OWNER OR BREEDER CAN UPDATE THE COLOR DESIGNATOR.

  • When using a desktop or laptop (not ipad/phone there is not enough room) you will now see a link to login into your UC Davis / My VGL at the top of each page for DNA testing making it easier for members to login.
