Recomended Feed & Water for KuneKunes
KuneKunes:
- are omnivores (plants & animals) NOT herbivores (plants only)
- are NOT a ruminant or camelid. (animals with more than one stomach)
- do not chew their cud (partially digested food brought up from the stomach to chew)
- are grazers however they can NOT thrive properly on grass alone in order to meet appropriate weight and health
- need a feed daily designed for swine that contains needed minerals and nutrients regardless of the time of year
- need fresh water available at all times
Growth rates and adult size are dependant upon a combination of feed regiment, husbandry and genetics.
The following growth chart weights are estimates using an average size KuneKunes with a weaning age of 8-10 weeks.
Adult KuneKunes are full grown between 3 and 4 year of age averaging 250-350 pounds for sows and 250-400 pounds for boars.
