INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound KuneKune ground pork
- 1 tablespoon lard/oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce/ coconut aminos
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust according to your desired level of spiciness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Steamed rice, for serving
-Roasted broccoli or green beans for serving
- Chopped green onions, for garnish'
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until the vegetables become tender and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the KuneKune ground pork to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spatula or wooden spoon, until it is browned and cooked through.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
4. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked KuneKune ground pork and vegetables in the skillet. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
6. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more soy sauce, sugar, or chili flakes according to your preference.
7. Remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the KuneKune ground pork hot over steamed rice.
8. Garnish with chopped green onions for added freshness and flavor.
