MARKET SMARTER, NOT LOUDER

Part 1 of a 4 Part Series

Facebook groups can be an incredible tool for connecting with other breeders, finding the right homes for pigs, sharing accomplishments, and getting your farm name in front of the KuneKune community.

But when it comes to marketing your farm, more isn't always better.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT AUDIENCE

Not every post needs to be shared into every KuneKune group you belong to. A pig looking for a new pasture may be perfect for a sales or regional group, while an educational post, farm update, or discussion may belong somewhere completely different.

MAKE YOUR FARM PAGE YOUR HOME BASE

Whenever possible, focus on creating and sharing content as your farm page. When something you post catches someone's attention, you want them to be able to easily follow your farm and see more of the content that interested them in the first place.

Your personal profile may introduce someone to your farm once. Your farm page gives you the opportunity to build an audience that wants to keep hearing from you.

GIVE PEOPLE A REASON TO STOP SCROLLING

Great photos, useful information, pedigrees, registration information, accomplishments, and a little personality will do far more for your farm than simply posting the same content everywhere.

BUILD RECOGNITION, NOT REPETITION

You want people to recognize your farm because they've enjoyed your posts, learned something from you, or remember your animals—not simply because they've seen the same post six times in their feed.

REMEMBER THE GROUPS ARE COMMUNITIES FIRST

Join conversations. Answer questions when you can. Celebrate other breeders. Share knowledge. Some of the strongest farm reputations are built by simply being a valuable part of the KuneKune community.

THOUGHTFUL MARKETING BUILDS A FARM PEOPLE REMEMBER

And give your posts a little room to breathe. There is quite a bit of membership overlap between KuneKune Facebook groups. Sharing identical content across several groups at once doesn't necessarily introduce your farm to several new audiences; it may simply show the same post to the same people several times.

Use groups to make connections. Use your farm page to give those connections somewhere to grow.
