GETTING READY TO SHOW TIMELINE
PREPARE FOR VIDEOING YOUR KUNEKUNES FOR SHOW ENTRY
- WHAT PIGS WILL YOUR FARM SHOW?
- review AKKPS Breed Standard
- look at pigs of all ages
- review the classes offered
- start walking with them carrying but not using the driving method you choose so they get used to them
- Pig Whip
- Sorting Board
- Giving them the treats you will use (used on the end of a pig whip)
- WHO WILL VIDEO?
- anyone can video pigs
- videos must be videoed in landscape mode
- videos may not be edited with the exception of sound
- WHO WILL HANDLE THE PIGS?
- Exhibitors can be of any age
- Exhibitors must own, be a family member or be a working member of the farm the pig is registered to in the current AKKPS Herd Book.
- SELECT A SHOW AREA LOCATION
- verify the area will have no other animals in the actual show area
- verify the outskirts of the area has no other animals in the immediate vacinity

BEGIN DRIVING YOUR PIG

- Dark denim or Dark Pants - suggested
- Collared Polo or Collared Button Down Shirt in a light color - suggested
- Boots Required - No sandals, crocs or tennis shoes of any kind - suggested
- No logos or branding (except AKKPS attire) on any clothing - disqualification

CONTINUE WORKING ON DRIVING YOUR PIGS
- increase the amount of time

- PRACTICE BATHING YOUR PIGS
- working on especially dirty spots / areas
- getting them used to be bathed
- VIDEOGRAPHER STARTS PRACTICING VIDEOING
- practice while the handler is practicing driving the pig
- videos must be landscape
- try to stay in one spot
- try not to zoom in and out
- capture front, back and both sides of the pig
- videos must be 30-60 seconds long
- no editing except sound
- person driving the pig should not be seen from the waste up

- No other animals (pigs or other) in the same pen as the pig being shown
- No other animals (pigs or other) in the near or immediate outside vicinity of the show area
