REGISTRATION HELP GUIDES
LITTER NOTIFICATION
This is the first step in registration and is done after the litter is born by the breeder/owner of the AKKPS registered sow.
Commonly Asked Questions
- What do I enter for the sire and or dam if I do not know which one it is? Pick the one that you think is the sire and/or dam. Should the sire and/or dam you listed not be the sire or dam, this will be fixed at the time of full registration with collaboration of the Parentage DNA Verification report from UC Davis.
- Do I enter all the piglets from the litter or just the ones I intend on registering? AKKPS requires that all piglets born to the litter be litter notified. This keeps the herd book accurate. If a piglet dies or is not fully registered, the status of the pig can be changed when logged into the AKKPS Member Portal under the information page of the pig.
FULL REGISTRATION
This type of registration has full breeding rights and is done after the breeder/owner of the sow receives the Parentage DNA report back from UC Davis. This is the step in registration where the new owner of the pig is designated.
